The Cardine

A compact suede shoulder bag with a turn-lock flap, a short handle and a detachable strap.

Named after the Italian word for a hinge — the small piece on which everything turns — the Cardine is built around a single clean flap that turns shut over a metal lock. Cut in genuine suede with nothing else on the outside, it lets the nap do the work, catching the light differently depending on which way it is brushed.

The Details

About ten inches across and four deep, it holds more than it looks like it will. Carry it by the short top handle or clip on the long strap for wear across the body. Inside there is a zip pocket, an open slip pocket and a phone pocket.
