The Dado

A small cube of pebbled leather — compact, structured and quietly graphic.

Named after the Italian word for a die, the Dado takes its cue from the simplest of shapes. Soft-edged sides of full-grain cowhide, a clean zip along the top and a single wide strap — nothing extra, nothing missing. It keeps its form whether it hangs from the shoulder or rests on a table, and its pebbled grain is as pleasing to the hand as it is to the eye.

The Details

The character is in the small things. The strap is fastened at each side with knotted leather toggles — a detail that is equal parts practical and decorative. Inside, a lined compartment keeps the essentials in order, with a zip pocket for the pieces you never want to hunt for: keys, cards, a lipstick.
